Gorilla Tracking

Gorilla tracking, also named Gorilla trekking, in Uganda is a once-in-a-lifetime journey to see the incredible mountain gorillas of  Africa’s rainforests on the slopes of the Virunga Mountains and in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Travelers that have been on this Uganda safari highly rate the activity. We provide you some examples here in this category.

Permits are available for booking through the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) or tour operator. You can purchase Bwindi or Mgahinga gorilla permits directly before you leave your home country. Besides, when not successful with online process, better get a safari company to help you.

For trekking in Bwindi, don’t book accommodation before acquiring the permits. Because there are 22 gorilla families and 4 different gorilla sectors Visitors can select the sector of choice at the time of booking and the lodge must close to the briefing center.

The allocation of gorilla families occurs on D-day of gorilla trekking therefore requests to visit a desirable gorilla group are acceptable but not guaranteed.
