5 Days mountain gorilla and chimpanzee trekking tour

Day 1:   Entebbe / Kampala to Kibale Forest National Park

Early morning pick up from your hotel in Kampala and travel to Kibale Forest National Park. An experienced tour guide with you all the time. Early afternoon arrival and check-in at the lodge. Relax the rest of the day. Optional Bigodi swamp walk.

Travel distance: 358 km (6-hour drive)

Day 2: Chimp trekking and travel to Queen Elizabeth N.P. for an afternoon boat cruise excursion

From Kibale, take a road trip through rift valley floor crater lakes on the way to Queen Elizabeth N.P. Arrive and check-in for lunch at lodge. Thereafter, go on a boat cruise excursion along the Kazinga channel connecting lakes George and Edward. A chance to view birds, elephants, buffaloes, hippos and Nile crocodiles. Afterward, back to your lodge with game drive safari.

Day 3: Queen Elizabeth N.P. to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

Wake up for a cup of tea and take a game drive before sunrise in search of mammals like lions, leopards, hyenas. Next, return for breakfast after which you travel to Bwindi Forest National Park. Game drive through Ishasha wilderness where you may spot tree-climbing lions of East Africa. Continue, arrive at your lodge in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Gorilla tracking and Village walk

First, attend the briefing on gorilla rules at the center. Get to meet and know the rangers. Make sure to dress appropriately for trekking into the jungle. Carry lunch box and drinking water as well. Hiking and gorilla tracking. 1 hour to spend observing mountain gorillas in their natural habitat.

Afterward, visit the local community after lunch so that people can benefit from nature and wildlife without destroying it.
