This 4 days gorilla trekking and boat safari tour takes you to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest (UNESCO world heritage site) and Queen Elizabeth National Parks. Track mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Next, take on safari game drives and boat cruise to encounter tree climbing lions, hippos, crocodiles, elephants, Cape buffaloes, Uganda kobs.

Truly, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is the ultimate destination for gorilla trekking safari. The forest at the edge of the Albertine rift valley is home to 459 mountain gorillas. Which is almost half of the 1063 world’s population of mountain gorillas. 22 gorilla families are habituated at 4 Bwindi sectors. These include Buhoma with 6, Ruhija 4, Nkuringo 4 and 7 at Rushaga. Bwindi gives you two ways to visit gorillas. First, is gorilla trekking and second is gorilla habituation experience.

Day 1 Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

Bwindi is 512 sq.km (8-hour drive) south-west of Kampala capital city/ Entebbe airport. Interestingly, the journey has in it stopovers at equator monument and Igongo restaurant for lunch in Mbarara city. Afterward, proceed to Bwindi. Arrive late evening on time for dinner. Finally, you will receive Uganda Wildlife Authority a gorilla trekking certificate. Settle for lunch and rest.

Later, go for a walking tour around the village. Then, visit the basket weaving cooperative and Batwa pygmy homestead. At last, return to the lodge. Have a good rest, dinner and overnight.

Bwindi to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Afterward, travel north of Bwindi through Ishasha wilderness where you might encounter the tree climbing lions. Then, continue to have lunch before a boat cruise on Kazinga Channel. Below, the freshwater body attracts hippos, elephants, buffaloes and birds. In conclusion, enjoy evening game drive in search of lions and hyenas. Moreover, there’s an optional night game drive for chance to spot leopards.

Day 4: End of 4 days gorilla trekking and boat safari tour

Finally, transfer from the park to Kampala capital city or Entebbe airport arriving early afternoon.
